Have you always had the dream of starting your own business? Whether it was knowing that you could be your own boss, make as much money as you want or to just have a big success, starting a business is a great goal to have. Not only are you creating a job for yourself, but you’re also creating jobs for other – which makes the world go round.

It is very common for business owners to carry around not only a regular credit card, but a business credit card. Business cards have so many benefits, offer a lot of great things and can be a huge convenience to business owners. We hear a lot of great things and a lot of negative things about credit cards. The truth is, it is up to you on how to you use them and whether or not they get you into debt or they benefit for you.

If you’ve heard that you should get a business credit card as a business owner, and would like to know why, here are a few reasons to consider.

Why Should I Get a Business Credit Card?

Credit limit: First of all, if you didn’t know already, business credit cards usually have the highest credit limit out of all the credit cards on the market. While your other ones may have a limit of around $3,000-$5,000, your business card will probably have a limit of around $10,000. This is great for starting up your business, if you need expensive items real fast, or if you’re just looking to earn points on your card.

Keep track: As a business owner, it is a good idea to keep track of how much money you’re putting towards your business each month. Keep track of all your spending and how much you spend on supplies. This will help you see how much it takes to run your business while separating it from how much it makes.

This is also a great way to stay organized. You don’t want to put your groceries and your business supplies on the same card, this can get confusing and messy.

Write off: If you didn’t know already, you can write off all your business expenses at the end of the year. This means they will be tax free. It wouldn’t be far to pay taxes on things that we need to make money. This is a huge benefit and is great to know. Having a business credit card can help keep track of all your business expenses to write off at the end of the year.

As you can see, business owners can really benefit for a business credit card. They make everything a little easier, more organized, and offer a lot of conveniences. Just because credit cards are known for “getting people into debt” doesn’t mean it’s true. If you spend wisely, don’t spend more than you make, and pay off your balances in full each month, you can only benefit from credit cards, especially business ones!
